Peter Neal was born and spent his early childhood in Upper Norwood, London
1945 May 31
Just before the end of World War 2 he was called up and spent a short time serving in Egypt.
1948 January 01
After demobilisation Peter returned to London to start work as an accountant in London for an East African firm, which sent him to various African branches to work.
1959 April 04
On his return to London he met, fell in love with and married Jean
1960 February 16
Simon was born
1962 August 27
James followed
1963 January 01
Work takes Peter to Berkhamstead, to York as Bursar of York Minster and then back to London.
1992 May 31
Peter retires and settles in Attleborough, Norfolk, enjoying giving his time to work at Wymondham Abbey and for the National Trust in Norwich
2009 January 10
Peter loses Jean after her long fight against cancer and moves to Princes Risborough to be nearer to his sons who are in Oxford and north London.
2018 January 01
Peter's independent living is compromised by a diagnosis of prostate cancer and by falling and breaking his hip. He then moves for a short stay in the Sue Ryder Nettlbed Hospice, then on to a care home in Yarnton, close to Simon's home in Oxford.
2019 August 20
Peter gives up his valiant fight against cancer and peacefully passes away aged 92.
